Man living with mental condition missing since June 4

Loved ones of 23-year-old Matthew ‘Perry’ Mason, who has been missing since Thursday, June 4, are worried sick that they may never find him. 

 

Speaking with THE STAR, Mason’s uncle Glenroy Dixon said that his nephew suffers from a mental disorder. 

 

“Him was on his medication up to the time when him leave the house. Him get seizures sometimes and every now and again him would leave the house for like a day or so but it always place weh him can walk go. Him never go so far yet,“ he said. Dixon said that he last saw Mason at their Church Pen, Old Harbour, St Catherine, home. 

 

“Mi leave him at home and go work but when mi come back, mi no see him. Suh mi call mi cousin but him never see him either. Mi bredda say dem see him in the day and give him three bills ($300). Friday morning mi still no see him, and we a search down the place,” he said. 

 

Dixon said they got word that Mason was spotted sitting on the bridge at Three Miles in St Andrew and he and others visited the area. But he was nowhere to be found. 

 

“A deso now mi go report it to Hunts Bay [police] and we search out the whole a di place and no see him. We end up reach a Olympic Way and a lady say she spot him, but we no see him. We all go at the fishing village at Greenwich Farm and nothing still,” he said. 

 

Mason is of fair complexion and slim built. Dixon said that he is appealing to the public for its assistance in locating Mason, while adding that he has not rested well since his disappearance. 

 

“Him mother dead from him a four and him used to live with his granny until him come live with mi. Him is a calm little youth who nah trouble nobody. We really miss him and want him come back home safely. We nuh really rest from him disappear, eno,” he said. “Even since (last) week mi deh a Seaview and Back To (Majesty Gardens) a search for him. Mi a ask the public to just help we look for him so him can come home safely,” Dixon said.
