A massive police investigation spanning three parishes has been launched following the discovery of the bodies of a missing Manchester woman and a security guard who investigators reportedly wanted to question in relation to her disappearance.

Dead are 40-year-old Kedecia McLeod, who was reported missing on Tuesday, June 9, and 50-year-old security officer Maurice Sennel.

McLeod's body was discovered about 9:30 a.m. Thursday in a field in the Peppers area of St Elizabeth after a farmer reportedly stumbled upon the gruesome find and alerted the police.

Lawmen remained at the scene for several hours as investigators processed the area and gathered evidence.

Hours earlier, police in Brown's Town, St Ann, were called to a location where Sennel's body was found with a gunshot wound to the head.

Investigators are probing the matter as a suspected suicide after Sennel reportedly sent messages to friends and church groups indicating that he intended to take his own life.

His firearm was reportedly found near his body and has since been seized for forensic examination.

Sources told investigators probing McLeod's disappearance had been seeking to question Sennel, who was believed to have been her significant other. He was reportedly being treated as a person of interest in the case.

The discovery of both bodies within hours of each other has triggered a coordinated investigation involving detectives from the Manchester, St Elizabeth and St Ann police divisions.

Police have not yet established the full circumstances surrounding either death and investigations remain ongoing.
