A Clarendon community was plunged into horror on Thursday night after a young man was taken into police custody for allegedly chopping three of his family memebers to death inside their home.

The incident occurred in Frazersfield, Rocky Point, Clarendon.

The deceased have been identified as Annette Lindo, a domestic helper and vendor; her son, 32-year-old fisherman Lynval Henry, both of Frazersfield; and Ingrid Keisha Lindo, a vendor of West End, Rocky Point.

Police report that the 26-year-old suspect, who is related to the victims, allegedly confessed to the killings and was found seated at the scene when lawmen arrived.

Investigators remained at the location with the suspect on Friday morning, combing the area for items of evidential value.

In a statement issued earlier today, the Jamaica Constabulary Force said it was alerted to an incident at a residence in the community about 9:10 p.m.

Upon the arrival of a police team, the three individuals were found suffering from chop wounds and were later pronounced dead at the scene.

"The JCF has launched a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident and is continuing enquiries to establish the sequence of events that led to the deaths," the statement said.

The investigation is ongoing.
