Sabina Park eyed for entertainment zone
Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport, Hon. Olivia Grange, says the Government is moving closer to formally designating specific locations across the island as entertainment zones.
The minister made the announcement during last Tuesday's sitting of the House of Representatives while outlining activities planned for Reggae Month, which will be observed throughout February.
According to Grange, work has already begun on identifying suitable locations, including sections of Olympic Way in St Andrew, with additional areas under review.
"We have started, for example, Olympic Way... it's coming up. There are some locations... like Sabina Park where, because there is an issue with parking, we're trying to work through that," Grange stated.
She also invited members of parliament to submit recommendations from their constituencies for consideration.
"If you have, in your constituencies, areas that you would want to recommend as an entertainment zone, please provide us with the information and we will deal with it," the minister said.
