45-y-o man gunned down in Hanover

The Hanover police are investigating the murder of a man along the Abingdon shoreline in Green Island on Tuesday afternoon.

The deceased has been identified as 45-year-old Patcliff James of Johns Hall in the parish.

Reports are that about 1:30 p.m., James was shot and killed by unknown assailants. The circumstances surrounding the attack remain unclear.

The Lucea Criminal Investigation Branch is leading the probe.

As of August 9, the Hanover Police Division has recorded 13 homicides -- a 65 per cent decrease compared to the same period last year.
